"Perfume-laden air"

"When from the neighbouring garden the perfume-laden air
Saturates my soul with memories,

Rises the thought of the beloved plum-tree
Blooming under the eaves of the house which is gone."

What beautiful paintings to surprise us with on a beautiful autumn morn'! :-)

Speaking of perfume-laden air, I found in Venice an Eau the Cologne, made with nothing but the essence of bergamot flowers (which also give Early Grey tea that magic flavour). Now I can dream of Sicilian bergamot orange groves every time I get a sniff of that cologne. ;-)

Have you ever visited an Annick Goutal perfumery? Her fine perfumes are captured in the most beautiful glass vessels, of a very sophisticated simplicity (my favorite being Eau d'Hadrien, both perfume and bottle).

oh.. these are gorgeous. lOVE THEM!!!
I think I love the bottles as much as the perfume and sometimes more. Shalimar being a favorite of mine. My Mom wore it.
Thanks for comment on my posts.
I find that the birds build nests in the birdhouses and winter in them. We have found nests in ones that we knew they didnt build before winter. They know how to keep warm. We will see their little heads peeking out in the mornings.
Where are you this week? Still in MO?

Thank you very much, everyone. I have had no computer connection in the last two hotels, and very frustrating that is when one's on the road! ;((

Merisi, I checked out that site--what marvelous things! I'll have to investigate that further! Thanks for the link!

Cris, I'll have to tell Joe what you told me here--fascinating about the birds! I have never noticed if they've done that at our place--probably have! Thanks for that info. I head home tomorrow and then back out on Monday to Reno NV and California.

As I said on your Flickr ppage, I adore these images...
your paintings of perfume bottles remind me of the series that Manolo Blanick did of his shoe designs that I have framed on my wall.
Will you be offering these on your Zazzle site...if so, I am so there I am starting a collection of your perfume bottles...! ! !

Wonderful work,chèrie,you are a star...!

Thanks so much, all! For some reason, I find these bottles fun to do! I'll probably try some more...

I believe the top one is Shalimar, but the bottom one..hmmm, there are so many fragrances nowadays that come in the squarish bottle. Like Ralph Lauren Notorious, and Gucci, and Boucheron's Trouble, I believe.
