Room Service

"Room service."

Are there two more beautiful words in the English language after a long day on the road?

There’s something quite soothing about a meal delivered to you with a rose in a vase at the end of the day. Granted, the meal’s not exactly the same as a home-cooked meal…but somehow that’s still ok if you can keep the rose and savor its simple beauty for the rest of the visit. I'll set my tray outside the room but I always save the flower.

And then, of course, there’s always the notion of a ready-made sketching image just waiting to happen... hmmmmmm…

“Room service? Send up a larger room.” (-Groucho Marx)

Have a great weekend, all!

Yes I love Room Service too.
Especially when I was in Hong Kong. Well anywhere, especially when it was all expenses paid :)
Yummy..food on a tray, like when you were sick in bed = luxury!

I have been lurking for months and loving your quotes, pictures and art. Today I "borrowed" your autumn quote for my own blog because I raised my family on Bryant street in Palo Alto, CA. And a very lovely tree-lined street it was, running parallel to Emerson, Waverley and Cowper streets.

Now, still in a literary environment, I live in another city right off Hawthorne Blvd.

Francoise, thank you very much! I appreciate your "lurking" and letting me know you have been! LOL. I enjoyed your blog when I went to visit. The quotations aren't mine anyway, so you certainly are free to use any you like! Glad you enjoy them.
