“Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale.” (-Hans Christian Andersen)

Carmel by the Sea is resplendent with fairy tale cottages.

Walking through the town is a magical journey.

You can’t help but be in a good mood seeing the little lopsided buildings that just ooze quaint charm.

It’s truly an artist’s colony surrounded by nature’s beauty.

“Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.” (-Unknown)

“The poetry of the earth is never dead.” (-John Keats)

Oh Sue, these are fantastic pictures. I painted that little Cottage of Sweets shop. I saw it on a trip back to CA with my dad just a couple weeks before he died. Its something I will treasure for ever. I loved that town. So much one could paint from there. I got some great shots too. I am so glad you got to see it all.
I have the painting and will never let it go.

I'm running behind and trying to catch up. This is a splendid entry and makes me realize how overdue I am for a visit tothe Monterey Peninsula. Have I already told you about the miniature painting exhibit at the Monterey Museum of Art? It's amazing. Visitors buy tickets and vote of their favorites. We won paintings two years running. What a fundraiser!
