The Elephant
When people call this beast to mind,
They marvel more and more,
At such a little tail behind,
So large a trunk before.
(--Hilaire Belloc)
Joe and I visited the Field Museum in Chicago, and saw these two giants in the grand lobby. They seemed somehow graceful despite their enormity, to me.

Fun!
Your elephants are magnificent!
I see no hesitation here.
It's a cute song, eh?
Elephants and yupo are an interesting mix!
What gorgeous, joyous looking elephants. Love the free, light way you've painted them!
Loved Water for elephants book!
I am so inspired by your watercolors. Glad I am coming to visit more often to see them.
Magnificent creatures! Your work isn't looking the least bit rusty!
Oh more lovely paintings. So happy to see you with paint brush in hand again. I will have to go check out that video now.
Beautiful painting. Your painting really makes them look graceful.
Cute song. I also liked the cute poem too.

I love the elephant on the left! He's dancing!
Great tune too!
You have such a wonderful light touch in your paintings, as if created out of chimera!

Thanks, everyone!
I think those same creatures were there when I was but a lass. Is that possible? Spent much time there and to this day I get a sort of museum headache. Take me to the gift shop.
